But unfortunatly after installing the new bailey channels the windows now fall out every time the window is wound down.

thinking about selling my hx
Submitted by hzfiend on Sat, 04/07/2009 - 06:46.Hey guys,
upon much deliberation, I've come to the conclusion that I need to sell my 77 HX. It's costing me money right now, as I don't have the cash to do up the pano, let alone the sedan as well lol.
It's dual fuel, with a 253. It's being stored in colac and will need to be picked up, as I don't have the means to transport it anywhere.
Anyone interested? If so, make an offer :)
cheers

early commo seats alternative
Submitted by hgutemate on Sat, 04/07/2009 - 04:02.G'day Do you know what kind of bucket seats would fit to an early commodore setup? My HG came with old commo seats that I have since made brackets for, I'd like to fit something slimmer (or an inch or so lower) without having to do the whole bracket again. Maybe a nissan or some race seat?
Cheers

started testing the mollasis rust eater theory
Submitted by stepto and son on Sat, 04/07/2009 - 02:05.Brought 20 litres of mollasis today $22 from my local farm store.
he also sells it in 5 litre buckets for $14.50 so i went the 20 litre.
was told that the mix is 2 litres of mollasis and 7 litres of water, but i used aprox 5 litres of mollasis and 10 of water
I threw in a few rusted test peices, so hopfully in a week, there clean
Just found out, the mix should ferment for 3 weeks first b4 putting the parts in..bummer
Wanted - Old Strata Turbo exhaust manifold
Submitted by Bathurst72 on Fri, 03/07/2009 - 23:35.Hi, I just brought an old strata kit but it has two large cracks in the exhaust manifold and is very badly bent, so it is rat s#?t.
So I need another manifold which is in good condition.
Would consider parts or another full kit to make one good set for my car.Any info would also be appreciated.

VT water damaged
Submitted by Ecoimpact on Fri, 03/07/2009 - 21:45.I know its not old holden but anyway -
If a VT had been underwater in a flood (not sure if more than 2 days yet) upto its steering wheel and owner said it was classed as a repairable write off (not stat), what sort of work would need to be done to the car?
Full engine and transmission rebuild?
Replace entire wiring loom?
Take out fuel tank and drain?
Anything else?

Wheels for EH with HR Disc Front End
Submitted by dacsenior on Fri, 03/07/2009 - 21:34.I was reading some of the older threads regarding the wheels required for a HR Disc Brake Front End. What I discovered was that the HD and HR wheels for Disc Brakes are different than the other 13" wheels of the era. This explains some of the problems I have had getting wheels to fit correctly.
Can anyone recommend a 14" or 15" steel wheel that will fit?
Future prices of oldholdens
Submitted by Ecoimpact on Fri, 03/07/2009 - 21:13.Wondering what everyone thinks prices of oldholdens (48-215 - say WB) will be in say 50 years time, considering there will be some vehicles involved in accidents, theft and fire, along with those considered too rusted out by their owner and scraped.
Also costs of parts in 50 years time? Along with what do you think the availability and pricing of specialists will be who are capable of working on oldholdens?
Lastly what sort of pricing of original factory car compared to modified specs?
Would love to buy an original car and put it into storage for 50years!!
Cheers
Jesse

Clutch pedal slow release
Submitted by wbrumbler on Fri, 03/07/2009 - 20:11.I hope someone can help me with this? I have a WB Ute 308 with 4 speed M20. Factory V8. When releasing clutch the pedal comes up very slow. Is there meant to be a clutch return spring or not. The problem only seems there after the vehicle has been driven for 15mins. Heat releated? It has always done it since i have owned it. I have just had a heavy duty clutch fitted, flywheel machined and cable replaced. The nose cone had no groves in it. Ps clutch was replaced due to clutch shudder. Any ideas would be great.
Thanks
Jamie
