Tailshaft Yoke from a TH400 Automatic Gearbox. Wear on the Seal Area can cause Oil Leaks. Photo by Myeh. Click to Enlargen.

Yokes:

The Yoke is located at the Front of the Tailshaft. The Yoke connects the Gearbox output to the Tailshaft. It has a Universal Joint attached to it to allow for Swivel.

Oil Leaks:

These can be caused by a worn out Rear Gearbox Seal or Bearing, Scoring on the Yoke Seal Surface and the Welch Plug in the Yoke leaking.

Installation Tips:

Smear the Seal Surface on the Yoke before installation into the Gearbox.
