(The LA code was carried through the TD to TG series, but at the change from TE to TF, the gear selector was changed to the right hand side.)
This information is compiled from the HQ Holden Service Manuals, HJ Service Manual Supplement, HX Service Notes, HZ Service Notes, WB Service Manual Supplement and the VB and VH Commodore Service Manuals. I'll add more info if and when I can get it. Thanks to "Poida" for supplying the LC/LJ/LH Torana, Gemini and the HG Holden codes, and thanks to "SeaSalt" for supplying the VC and VK codes. Also, thanks to Phil for supplying the VL Commodore code.

[edit] FW Trimatic:

According to my lists an FW Tri-Matic was fitted to WB 3.3 with a 4.44 rear axle & floor shift.

It has the shift lever on the LHS.

Looks like a LW'A' calibration from a VK-VL Commodore. Can tell by the LHS shift linkage. There is no FW coded trimatic in my documentation, BUT dont go by the code as the transmission looks like it has been reco'd at some time and could actually be anything!
