Starter Heat Shield:

Purpose:

Early Holden Red Sixes had 2 Bolt Holes cast into the Block at the Rear of the Engine on the Manifold side. These provided mounting for a Starter Heat Shield. The Shield was intended to keep the Exhaust Manifold Heat from impacting the Starter.
