Clutch Pedal Mounts:

HQ - Early HZ:

Submission by One Tunna Lova Thought while i had the chance yesterday i would take some pics for the holdenpedia. They are pics of where the clutch pedal mounts in HQ-Early HZ compared to Late HZ/WB. All V8 and 6 Cyl HQ-Early HZ's use the same hole for the clutch pedal. The Late HZ-WB's (Full cable pull type clutch) use 2 different holes. The lower hole is in exactly the same position as the earlier models and is used for V8's. The upper hole is higher up and used for 6 cyl's (6Cyl's have a longer pedal when measured from the pivot point to the bottom of the pedal).
When using a full cable setup on a 6cyl in an earlier model body that only has the lower hole, you end up with the clutch pedal sitting lower than the brake pedal, and also the clutch cable bracket no longer lines up with the hook on the pedal. This means the cable is then puling on an angle and i don't recon it would last very long.
The solution i had was to cut the end of the bracket almost right off, and bend the end (where the cable goes though) slightly so it was on the correct angle for the pedal, then weld it up again.End of submission by One Tunna Lova.
