These images show which V8 blocks match which gearbox bellhousing.

There are 2 types of patterns. The Turbo type and Trimatic type. The images show the differences.

The v8 TH700 can bolt up to any holden v8 that has the turbo bolt pattern. If it is a trimatic pattern motor, a adaptor plate is required. The V6 TH700 can be bolted up only with an adaptor plate. Regardless of engine bolt pattern.
