161 Cubic Inches Displacement, 6 cylinders.

All the red sixes have the same 3.00" stroke except the 201, 202 and 3.3 which have a 3.25" stroke.

Blue and black 3.3's also have a 3.25" stroke.

161 HP Thread

161 Engines were originally fitted to late model HD's, HR's, then HK-T-G. These cars carried no external engine identification badge when this engine was fitted. LC Torana's that were sold with this engine carried
the 2600 badge externally.
Used the adjustable hydraulic lifter valve gear that was used in 186 engines.

Count the welsh plugs on the starter side of the block 3=149, 5 (3 big, 2 small) = 179,186,161 ect
